Our History

Freedom Institute originated through the vision and leadership of Pastor Chris Hodges, Lead Pastor of the Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, Alabama. Through this partnership, we were granted permission to translate the Freedom Book into Khmer, extending its life-changing message to new communities.

The Covenant Church in Carrollton, Texas and the Church of the Highlands jointly share a vision that every believer would know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference. Covenant Church played a vital role in equipping founding leaders, assisting with non-profit registration, and supporting the establishment of the school. While both churches provide guidance and encouragement, Freedom Institute was launched through the faithful support of individual donors who share a passion for freedom in Christ.

Today, Freedom Institute operates as a registered non-profit educational institution with full tax-exempt status in the State of Texas and the United States. Our work continues through faith-based operations, volunteer service, and a commitment to biblical truth.

Why We Exist

Freedom Institute was established to carry out a biblical calling that transforms lives through faith, truth, and obedience. Everything we do is designed to help individuals grow spiritually and live out God’s purpose with clarity and conviction.

Our Purpose

Our primary purpose is to introduce people to an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again for our righteousness. Through biblical instruction and compassionate guidance, we encourage lives marked by dedicated service, spiritual maturity, and love-led obedience.

Biblical Mandate
